ROSEDALE 2 BEACH HOUSE

 

A bushfire rebuild following the fires on the NSW South Coast in 2019/20. The unusually shaped site suited a linear floorplan with the narrow eastern end addressing the ocean view. A wall of glazing on the eastern elevation creates a focused view from the living spaces towards Rosedale beach.

Sensitively nestled into the landscape, the design uses a restrained palette of corrugated metal, fibre cement and grey brick, taking its cues from coastal architecture and colours from the surrounding spotted gum forest.
